Yung-Hui Liang

Yung Hui Liang ist Pianistin und Musikpädagogin mit Wohnsitz in Zürich. Sie ist als Solistin, Kammermusikerin sowie in interdisziplinären Projekten tätig und unterrichtet Klavier an der Musikschule Konservatorium Bern. In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit verbindet sie musikalische Präzision mit Offenheit für neue Konzertformate und setzt sich dafür ein, zeitgenössische Musik für ein vielfältiges Publikum unmittelbar erfahrbar zu machen.

Sie studierte an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste bei Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov und absolvierte einen Bachelor in Musik sowie Masterabschlüsse in Music Performance, Musikpädagogik und Specialized Music Performance mit Schwerpunkt Solistin. Als Solistin konzertierte sie unter anderem mit dem Taipei Symphony Orchestra, dem Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Taipei International United Youth Symphony Orchestra und dem Philharmonischen Kammerorchester Wernigerode. Sie wurde unter anderem beim Duttweiler-Hug-Wettbewerb der ZHdK, beim Fazioli Rising Star Piano Competition sowie beim International Young Pianist Competition in Hamamatsu ausgezeichnet.

Als Mitinitiatorin von O-POINT entwickelt sie gemeinsam mit den beteiligten Komponist:innen und Künstler:innen neue Konzertformate und begleitet die künstlerischen Entwicklungsprozesse als Interpretin.

Yung-Hui Liang is a Zurich-based pianist and music educator. She is active as a soloist, teaches piano at Musikschule Konservatorium Bern, and contributes to contemporary and interdisciplinary projects as a pianist with O-POINT. Her artistic interests include classical repertoire, chamber music, improvisation, composition, and new forms of collaborative performance.

Yung-Hui studied with internationally acclaimed pianist Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Music and Master’s degree in Music Performance, she continued her advanced soloist training in the Specialized Music Performance programme. She subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy. This extensive education has shaped a multifaceted artistic identity in which performance, creative exploration, and teaching continually enrich one another.

As a soloist, Yung-Hui has performed with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the HSNUSO Symphony Orchestra, the Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra, the Taipei International United Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode. These engagements have taken her to concert stages across Asia and Europe. Her distinctions include prizes at the Duttweiler-Hug Competition at ZHdK, the Fazioli Rising Star Piano Competition, and the International Young Pianist Competition in Hamamatsu.

At the heart of Yung-Hui’s artistic vision is the belief that music is a deeply human form of communication. For her, it offers a space in which imagination, emotion, individuality, and shared experience can come together. She seeks to create sincere and communicative performances, inviting listeners not simply to hear the music but to discover their own relationship with it. This conviction inspires her collaborative and interdisciplinary practice with O-POINT and her commitment to exploring contemporary music in ways that remain direct, meaningful, and open to the audience.

The same values guide her teaching. Yung-Hui seeks to help each student develop technical confidence, artistic independence, imagination, and an individual musical voice. Whether performing on the concert stage, collaborating within O-POINT, or teaching, she strives to create meaningful connections and make music an engaging and accessible experience for people of all ages and backgrounds.
